The Planmeca Viso imaging system includes 2-D, 3-D, and optional cephalometric modalities. It also is designed to offer simpler field-of-view adjustments, intelligent patient movement correction, a more efficient imaging workflow, and exceptional durability.

Plus, Planmeca says, it captures high-quality images at a low patient dose. And with its 25- by 30-cm flat panel sensor, the Viso can capture the industry’s largest single scans volume covering the entire maxillofacial area, Planmeca says.

Patient positioning is now done directly from the system’s control panel utilizing integrated cameras and a live video view. The operator can see the patient live from the control panel screen for flexible and exact positioning.

The Viso also uses Planmeca’s Correction Algorithm for Latent Movement, which analyses and compensates for slight movements during a scan to improve images and eliminate retakes. The imaging arm increases patient space and reduces acquisition times as well.

Equipped with a new upper and lower head support and four integrated cameras aimed at the patient from different directions, Planmeca’s ProFace covers a larger area than before with enhanced 3-D image quality, the company says.

And, the Viso additionally paves the way for the launch of Planmeca 4D Jaw Motion, a CBCT integrated solution for tracking, recording, visualizing, and analyzing jaw movement in 3-D. It offers visualization and measurement data of mandibular 3-D movement in real time.
