Continuing education is an essential part of the profession. However, keeping track of your credits and whether or not you’ve fulfilled your requirements can be tricky. Maintaining those records for your entire staff can be even more difficult.

DentalComply’s Compliance Management Tool aims to untangle the mess by tracking the CE credits for each member of a dental practice. It also provides reminders and communication for all personnel.

“Keeping your staff current on certification requirements is important, because a practice that falls out of compliance can run into big problems,” said Michael Colvin, CEO of DentalComply.

“In some cases it is even possible that malpractice insurance would fail to cover an office whose license has lapsed,” Colvin said. In one year in Kentucky, for example, 154 dentists and 96 hygienists let their licenses lapse, putting their practices at risk.

“Our Compliance Management Tool helps makes sure this will never happen,” Colvin said. “We also make the process of managing deadlines and requirements easy, saving the practice administrative time and money.”

Additionally, DentalComply offers a library of online courses that can be taken at the convenience of each employee. With the Compliance Management Tool, users can design an overall CE strategy for their entire practice and monitor employee progress with at-a-glance reporting of their CE activity.

The Compliance Management Tool furthermore informs personnel of CE opportunities and industry events. Its alert system communicates with the front desk and creates reminders for key dates like license renewals, event reminders, production goals, certification deadlines, radiation badge expirations, and insurance reminders.

As a Web-based program, the Compliance Management Tool doesn’t require any software to be installed on office computers. Also, there is no risk of outside access to sensitive patient data. DentalComply provides turnkey setup as well.

DentalComply will be at the Chicago Dental Society’s 2016 Midwinter Meeting, Feb. 25 through Feb. 27, at booth 644.
