With Sirona Dental’s inLab Software 15, dentists can do more than design basic crown and bridge indications including inlays, onlays, and veneers. It also offers a removable partial framework application as well as implantology and removable framework modules, with additional indications planned.

Users can process files from any and all current digital impression units including the Sirona Connect, Align Technology iTero, and 3Shape TRIOS once the lab has received them, which may require third-party portals. Since it’s designed as a completely open system, inLab Software 15 also accepts and .STL cases, making case acceptance any client requests virtually limitless.

Additionally, the update can export to any mill, fabrication device, or service provider, giving dental technicians unprecedented freedom of choice for their laboratory, according to the company. By combining all steps in the restorative production process, dentists can design and mill implant surgical guides and implant bridges with or without soft tissue, including all-on-four and screw-retained bridges.

Users can even create removable partial frameworks from start to finish. With its Partial Framework module, users can design baseplates for milling from wax for casting, send them to Sirona’s infinDent service, or export them through .STL files for 3-D manufacturing with laser sintering or Valplast Internationals’ Valplast.

The update’s jaw-oriented biogeneric reconstruction feature uses the entire occlusal surface of the jaw and the patient’s individual occlusal curves as a reference for its initial proposal. Jaw-oriented biogeneric proposals create individual patient-specific restorations with natural function and aesthetics with minimal effort, Sirona Dental says. According to the company, it’s the only available software that can complete this task.

And, Sirona Connect’s capabilities have been upgraded. Labs and doctors can discuss their cases and send screenshots and files through its chat window. Labs, then, can provide design services for CEREC doctors.

The inLab Software 15 update requires a PC with Windows 7. For more information, visit inlab.com.
