Dental supplier Young Innovations is expanding with two recent acquisitions.

First, Young Innovations has acquired assets from several entities that compose Crystal Tip, which supplies disposable air and water syringe tips and adapters including the Crystal Tips, Starz Tipz, Natures Tip, Biofree Tips, and ecosmart tips brands.

“Crystal Tips and its diverse brands are a welcome addition to our growing portfolio of clinically differentiated products,” said Dave Sproat, CEO of Young Innovations. “Crystal Tip’s commitment to safe and sustainable dentistry through innovative product solutions aligns well with our core values and focus.”

“We are incredibly proud of the success we’ve had building the company and developing an expertise in air/water syringe systems and safety over the years,” said Donovan Berkely, CEO and owner of Crystal Tip.

“We believe Young Innovations is the best partner to carry the brands to an even broader group of clinical professionals who care about delivering high-quality dentistry using the safest products,” Berkely said.

Berkely will continue as a consultant during a transitional period, and Crystal Tip operations will continue in Irvine, California. Any changes to ordering and service procedures for customers or vendors will be communicated directly.

Also, Young Innovations has acquired Germiphene Corporation. Based in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, Germiphene is a manufacturer and supplier of infection control materials and other products for professional dental use.

“Since 1952, Germiphene has built its reputation on developing and manufacturing high-quality products to improve the safety and efficacy of dental procedures,” said Sproat. “We are excited to support the continued growth of Germiphene’s employees, business partners, and brands as part of our broader global portfolio.”

“Our acquisition of Germiphene reflects our continued commitment to invest in businesses that share our values and complement our overall strategy in core categories,” said Andrew Jones, vice president of corporate development at Young Innovations.

“I am exceptionally proud of the company we’ve built over nearly 70 years with our valued employees and business partners,” said Leslie Drake, CEO and owner of Germiphene. “I’m excited to be partnered with Young to continue growing Germiphene into the future.”

Drake will continue to provide leadership and support at Germiphene. Its products will continue to be produced at its Brantford facility. There are no changes to ordering and service procedures for customers or vendors.
