Rickert Named President of AACD

The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) inaugurated Dwight G. Rickert, CDT, of Indianapolis, Ind, as its new president during its annual scientific session in Las Vegas on April 21. His term will continue until April 21, 2018, when the 6,000-member organization will meet again in Chicago.

A fourth-generation dental technician, Rickert became a Certified Dental Technician in 1996 and shortly after opened Preferred Dental Ceramics in Indianapolis. He then joined the AACD in 2000 and earned Accredited Member status in 2006. In 2016, he earned the status of Accredited Fellow, the AACD’s highest honor.

Rickert has served as a member of the AACD Written Exam Committee, the AACD Editorial Review Board, the American Board of Cosmetic Dentistry, the AACD Professional Education Committee, and the AACD Budget and Finance Committee. Also, he has donated his time and services to the AACD Charitable Foundation’s Give Back a Smile Program.
