The CAO Group Aegis line of personal protective equipment (PPE) is designed to help dental practices return to operation during the COVID-19 pandemic. It includes the Aerosol VacStation, a digital infrared thermometer, coverall suits, protective K95 masks, surgical masks, protective goggles, and face shields. Each product has unique items to protect dental staffs.

The Aerosol VacStation features three-stage filtration and ultraviolet light with a flow rate of 3 cubic meters per minute and low noise. The three-stage filtration includes a moisture filter, a HEPA H13 filter for particles as small as 2.5 µm, and an active carbon filter for solvent and active particles. Its UV light is 275 nm in wavelength.

Also, the digital infrared thermometer is a US Food and Drug Administration cleared Class II medical device. It measures body temperature in both Celsius and Fahrenheit in less than a second with no contact and automatically stores the last measured value.

“Protecting office staff shall be the number one priority for dental practices,” said Densen Cao, PhD, founder and CEO of CAO. “Protections in dental practices must be advanced to a new standard under the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The CAO Group encourages dental practices to take the temperatures of patients when they check in; use a coverall suit, goggles, a KN94 or surgical mask and a face shield during procedures; use an aerosol vacuum station to remove aerosols during procedures; and disinfect routinely between patients.

The Aegis line is available at caogroup.com and amdlasers.com and from certain dental distributors.
