The Medit i700 intraoral scanner captures up to 70 frames per second to acquire more data with each pass and ensure a smooth and quick scanning experience with realistic colors and a crisp image, according to the company. It also is smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the i500, weighing just 245 g, Medit said.

The tips have been redesigned and are now reversible and autoclavable 100 times, increasing comfort of use and ease of maintenance, the company said. The cable is also detachable for easy maintenance and improved portability, Medit said.

To further increase user comfort, a remote control mode enables users to keep their hands on the unit and easily show patients the scan data, the company said. Plus, its UV-LED makes it the only device on the market with self-disinfecting capabilities, according to Medit.

The i700 runs on Medit Link, the company’s open software, which integrates with other CAD/CAM providers and with Medit’s own apps for smile design, orthodontic simulation, crown fit, and other patient communication tools.
