In addition to the intraoral Cam head and Spectra caries detection head, the Air Techniques CamX Triton HD camera system now includes the Proxi head, which is designed to enable practitioners to reliably and easily detect and diagnose interproximal caries. The Proxi head doesn’t require the use of x-ray radiation, suiting it for use with pediatric and pregnant patients. All three heads are designed for easy interchangeability, and their slim, rounded shape enable easy access to even the most challenging posterior areas, the company says.

Also, HD images and videos can be saved directly into the patient’s digital chart for long-term monitoring. With the system’s one-push autofocus button, images come into focus from any distance, from full face to the macro level. Two LEDs ensure optimum and uniform illumination for excellent image quality, Air Techniques says. Capture buttons are located on the top and bottom of the CamX Triton HD, so there’s no need for users to adjust their grip. Plus, the system’s motion sensor switches the camera on and off for efficient use.
