After a year of engaging and fun fundraisers, employees of Pelton & Crane delivered 74 teaching dolls, coloring books, crayons, and other employee donations to Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, NC, in time for the holidays.

“When we researched the hospital, we learned that it was in need of not only monetary contributions, but donations in the form of dolls, coloring supplies, and volunteers,” said Amber Wallner, senior human resources specialist at Pelton & Crane. “We liked the idea of being able to fundraise for the hospital throughout the year in several different ways.”

For example, the company’s Charlotte office launched a “penny war” that raised nearly $1,000. A picnic raised $750, which was matched by another $750 from Pelton & Crane’s parent company, the KaVo Kerr Group. Employees also held a coloring supply drive as well as a fabric drive that gathered material for the teaching dolls and assembled them.

“KaVo Kerr Group associates are an amazingly generous group,” said Wallner. “We work hard each year to sponsor a group that the entire facility feels passionately about, and we do our best to make giving back fun.”

Pelton & Crane and the KaVo Kerr Group also supported the Charlotte Rescue Mission and its Dove’s Nest women’s shelter in 2015. Employees raised money, volunteered at the shelter, donated classroom supplies, and held a food drive. Additionally, they focused support on the Kids Wish Network in December, raising money to help a pair of children with life-threatening illnesses to go on their dream vacations.
