Hill brings decades of experience in leading health care associations, most recently serving as executive director and CEO of the Colorado Dental Association where he was dedicated to empowering over 3,300 member dentists to build successful practices and careers. Prior to that position, Hill served as assistant executive director of the Kansas Dental Association.

In his new role at NYSDA, Hill is committed to enhancing member experience by creating an environment where all dentists look to the organization first for their professional needs. “Now more than ever, running a dental practice is difficult,” Hill acknowledged. “Lingering effects from COVID, workforce shortages and rising costs of supplies are creating stress on the profession. Organized dentistry must work to develop solutions to these challenges.”

Additionally, Gregory Hill seeks to continue the necessary work to grow, support and recognize diversity, equity and inclusion within the Association. In 2022, NYSDA launched its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Task Force and charged it with developing programs that encourage representation and participation by diverse groups within the organization.

As executive director, Hill will strive to position NYSDA as the preeminent dental association in the country. “We need to lead in membership growth and innovation, support our component societies, and leverage strength through our diverse membership to empower success of all members,” Hill said. “We can do this by investing in new dentist initiatives and focusing on aligning value to membership for early career dentists through oral health advancement, well-being programs, health equity and giving back to their communities.”

Hill earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Washburn University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Kansas State University.

His appointment follows the death of Executive Director Dr. Mark J. Feldman in November 2021.

“With his many contributions to NYSDA and our profession, Dr. Feldman left big shoes to fill,” said Dr. James E. Galati, president of NYSDA. “I am confident that, together with the Board of Trustees, Mr. Hill will succeed in moving our organization forward. I am excited to serve with him.”
