The DMG America LuxaPost is a transparent, glass fiber-reinforced composite post that reacts to pressure and stress, much like natural dentin, according to the company. It is radiopaque and already presilanized, combining high quality with ease of use, DMG says. Because its high flexural modulus (degree of elasticity and rigidity) is almost equal to natural dentin, the company adds, the use of LuxaPost significantly minimizes tension peaks in the post-cement-root system and dramatically lessens the risk of root fractures. Plus, clinicians appreciate the user-friendly, color-coded system, DMG says.
