Composite Releases Fluoride, Calcium, and Phosphate Ions

Richard Gawel

Parkell’s Predicta Bioactive Bulk dual-cure, bulk-fill resin composite releases fluoride, calcium, and phosphate ions to stimulate mineral apatite formation and remineralization at the material-tooth interface. According to the company, its innovative ability to recharge fluoride ions provides a unique combination of physical and chemical properties.

Predicta Bioactive Bulk is dimensionally stable, with excellent strength, time-efficient handling, and optical characteristics close to those of natural teeth, Parkell said. Its unlimited depth of cure ensures that the deepest portions of the restoration will polymerize and it has an ideal thixotropic viscosity for easy cavity adaptation, the company added.

Indicated for Class I, II, III, IV, and V restorations, Predicta Bioactive Bulk is ideal for bulk filling, Parkell said, and its automix hand syringe makes delivery fast and easy. Additionally, the material is highly radiopaque, making it easily identifiable on x-rays, the company said.
