As founder and director of Pacific Dental Institute in Portland, Ore, Dr. Sorensen practices prosthodontics in an implant specialty center and is currently conducting 4 clinical trials on all-ceramic systems and implant abutment systems as well as materials testing, and providing hands-on continuing education programs. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. Previously he was the Oregon Dental Association Centennial professor of restorative dentistry and director of the Dental Clinical Research Center at Oregon Health Sciences University. Prior to that he was the director of the Advanced Prosthodontics Specialty Program at University of California Los Angeles School of Dentistry. Dr. Sorensen has published nearly 80 research articles and chapters as well as more than 120 research abstracts. He has given more than 150 invited lectures in 31 countries.
