Kettenbach’s Identium impression material receives excellent report

Eschenburg, June xx, 2012 – Kettenbach GmbH & Co. KG ( has developed an entirely new material for one step impression techniques: Vinylsiloxanether (VSXE). Introduced on the market under its product line “Identium”, it combines the advantages of the most tried and tested materials, A-silicone and polyether. Test results reporting excellent flow and hydrophilic properties were published in the CLINICIANS REPORT®… volume 5, Issue 3.

96% of the CR evaluators rated the product excellent or good. 63% stated they would incorporate Identium in their practice. These are the conclusions of the comparative test carried out by CR Foundation®. As a non-profit vocational training and research institute, CR Foundation® volunteer staff members collect objective and factual data which are then published in the CLINICIANS REPORT®.

As part of the test, the laboratory has scrutinized products from the market leaders.
Different materials, such as A-silicone, polyether and hybrid materials were tested and evaluated.

Identium shows distinctive advantages
Identium has demonstrated a combination of excellent flowing and exceptional hydrophilic properties (lowest possible contact angle of less than 10° after one second). This ensures optimal inflow in a humid environment, even in the narrowest sulcus crevices. The institute thus attested both viscosity and the high degree of precision as positive. In addition, the material is neutral in taste and smell, and is easy to remove. These aspects proved to be clear advantages in the comparative test.

Markus Knetsch, Product Management & Communication at Kettenbach GmbH & Co. KG, explains: “We are very pleased that a neutral body has acknowledged the superior material properties of our product. This confirms that Identium offers dentists and patients real added value. Besides its excellent properties, it is also easy to use which, in turn, offers savings potentials. In short: it is indispensible in any practice.”
