The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) needs you! Its Medical Devices Advisory Committee (MDAC) Dental Products Panel is looking for dentists, engineers, and scientists with expertise in dental implants, dental materials, oral and maxillofacial surgery, endodontics, periodontology, tissue engineering, snoring and sleep therapy, and dental anatomy. There are 11 vacancies for voting members on the panel, and selected candidates would begin on November 1, 2019.

The MDAC reviews and evaluates data on the safety and effectiveness of marketed and investigational devices and makes recommendations for their regulation. The Dental Products Panel also functions at times as a dental drug panel, evaluating and recommending whether various prescription drug products should be changed to over-the-counter status and make recommendations concerning the approval of new dental drug products.

Nominations received on or before October 29, 2019, will be considered first. Those received after will be considered for nomination to the committee as later vacancies occur. Nominations should be submitted electronically by logging into the Advisory Nomination Portal or by mail to Advisory Committee Oversight and Management Staff, Food and Drug Administration, 10093 New Hampshire Avenue, Building 32, Room 5103, Silver Spring, Maryland 20993-0002.
