We have some very tragic news to cover today. Dr. Todd Ehrlich, a beloved and respected dentist and dental surgeon, passed away on October 27th, 2021 from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident on October 26th, 2021. Dr. Ehrlich was a University of Texas Health Center alum with more than twenty years as a dental practitioner. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and was president of the Alumni Association. He also served as a Master CEREC trainer at Patterson Dental, as well as working as a CEREC and Emax CAD beta tester. His training courses in the technology were regarded as some of the best there was. The good doctor joined Digital Enamel as a general dentist and educator in January of 2003. According to his LinkedIn profile, he remained associated with the company until his untimely death.

Dr. Ehrlich’s passing was confirmed on Facebook by Damien Bonner, a good friend and colleague, who wrote, “Just heard the terrible news that my friend, one of my favorite speakers amd mentors in dental, Todd Ehrlich passed away in a motorcycle accident today. Dr Ehrlich worked hard to support me in my early days of selling CEREC with Patterson Dental. I lost count of how many times he flew up to lecture for our CEREC community. A vibrant personality and a great soul. I am in complete shock that this is real, You will be missed Todd and thank you for all you’ve done for me.”

That wasn’t the only post put out. Another colleague named Michael Smith said, “Dr. Ehrlich, (Todd), you had a unique way to speak and share your knowledge. Many times we talked about your adventures and where they may take you next. You lived life as fast as you could and enjoyed every second of it. It’s very hard to think no more talks on your trips, planning of racedays and cruises. You my fine sir, will always be known for your infectous smile, your amazing photography and of course your love for two wheels on the road. I’m sure you were enjoying life to the fullest all the way to the end. Praying for your family and the dental community. You are unreplacable to say the least and hopefully we can continue to educate with the same enthusiasm as you. Rest In Peace, friend!”

Dr. Todd Ehrlich is survived by his wife Kristine and two sons. The full details of the accident are not yet clear. Authorities have yet to release them, as this is an active investigation.

There is no additional information at this time.

Our condolences go out to Dr. Ehrlich’s entire family.

May he Rest In Peace.
