ADA Seeks Comments on Recognizing Orofacial Pain and Oral Medicine as Specialties
The ADA’s National Commission on Recognition of Dental Specialties and Certifying Boards is inviting public comment on two applications for specialty recognition requesting that orofacial pain and oral medicine be recognized as dental specialties.
Written comments on the applications, submitted by the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and the American Academy of Oral Medicine, are due by October 28.
The National Commission is inviting public comment for a 60-day period according to its Application Process for Recognition of a Dental Specialty protocol based on the applicant’s compliance with the ADA Requirements for Recognition of Dental Specialties.
Comments may be submitted to Catherine Baumann, director, National Commission on Recognition of Dental Specialties and Certifying Boards, 211 E. Chicago Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60611 or baumannca@ada.org.
The American Academy of Orofacial Pain application and the American Academy of Oral Medicine application are available for review online.
