The Academy of Osseointegration (AO) 36th Annual Meeting will move to a virtual format due to concerns about the ongoing spread of COVID-19. Despite this change, AO said, it continues to engage with its speakers, exhibitors, attendees, and others.

Scheduled for March 12 to March 14, 2021, “Game Changers” will include plenary and symposia presentations, research through abstracts and e-posters, and an interactive exhibit hall experience and networking across all disciplines, AO said.

In addition to the opening and closing symposia, events will include the surgical track, the prosthetic track, and the Young Clinicians’ Session, as well as topics such as aesthetics, complications, risk management, and surgical complications.

AO also has extended the deadline for all abstract submissions to November 20, 2020, at 11:59 pm ET. Registration for the virtual event will open later this fall.

“We appreciate your patience as we work diligently to address questions and provide additional information to our planned participants and other guests. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to us,” said AO president Clark M. Stanford, DDS, PhD, MHA. “Thank you and be safe!”
