With the new Orifice Shaper, Dentsply Sirona is expanding its proven WaveOne® Gold reciprocating file system to include a new instrument for coronal flaring that supports efficient use while maintaining consistent motor settings. Dentsply Sirona is now launching the WaveOne® Gold Orifice Shaper, its first reciprocating coronal flaring instrument, for this step. This file is designed for coronal flaring of the root canal. As a complement to the WaveOne® Gold file system, the instrument integrates seamlessly into the established treatment protocol, as it operates using the same reciprocating motion, helping lower the risk of procedural errors and streamline treatment. This means the entire root canal preparation can be performed using a single motor setting. The advantages:

The WaveOne® Gold Orifice Shaper was designed in close collaboration with Dr. Wilhem-J. Pertot, DDS, PhD, from Paris, France; Dr. Marco Martignoni, DDS, from Rome, Italy; and Dr. Julian Webber, BDS (UK), MS (USA), from London, United Kingdom. Dr. Beth Damas, DDS, and Dr. David Landwehr, DDS, clinical education lecturers at Heartland Dental, a dental service organization (DSO) based in Effingham, Illinois, supported the development of this product. Dr. Landwehr summarizes the process, saying: “Finally, the instrument delivers exactly what we hoped it would. In our hands-on courses, we used to have to constantly remind participants about the motor settings, but that’s no longer necessary.
