Glassdoor has named North American Dental Group (NADG) cofounder Kenneth Cooper one of its 25 Highest Rated CEOs During the COVID-19 Crisis for his steadfast commitment to ensuring the health and safety of the company’s staff and for fostering a caring workplace environment, according to NADG.

To compile its list, Glassdoor analyzed employee reviews from current and former workers at companies based in the United States with a workforce of at least a thousand employees between March 1 and July 31. Glassdoor also rated CEOs on several leadership characteristics and traits, including how employees rated their overall effectiveness during the pandemic.

“I am truly humbled by this recognition. The fact that this honor comes solely as a result of NADG team members sharing their personal thoughts, beliefs, and experiences makes this acknowledgement truly special for me. I have tremendous gratitude for the men and women who make NADG a wonderful place to work,” said Cooper.

Cooper credited the company’s culture and maxim, “Caring people, caring for people.”

“There is no question that this pandemic has created deep challenges for our company. But we never wavered from our servant leadership mindset, our culture, and our values. We genuinely care for our patients and teammates. That has been our North Star as we navigate this current crisis,” Cooper said.

“From the start of the pandemic, we took measures to protect our teammates. We assisted those who suffered economic hardships. We served our communities by providing emergency dental care and donated protective masks to first responders. In addition, we also established new safety measures to make our work environments safe for our patients and team members,” he said.

NADG is a dental service organization that provides non-clinical administrative services to more than 230 supported dental practices across 15 states. It is led by a board of dentists known as the Professional Dental Alliance, which provides the clinical guidance needed for NADG to function under new safety protocols and partnered with the business-side to shift operations during the pandemic, the company said.

Glassdoor analyzed employee reviews from a variety of sectors including tech, manufacturing, insurance, defense, healthcare, and other industries. Common themes from employees who work with the highest-rated CEOs included respect for work-life balance, showing genuine care for workers, and allowing for flexible hours and working remotely during the pandemic.

Also, Glassdoor noted that these leaders prioritize their employees and make sure that they are cared for, according to employee feedback. Many employees at these companies are navigating major changes because of the pandemic, Glassdoor continued, making frequent and transparent communication as well as the effort to listen to employees’ needs more important than ever.
