Ditron Dental USA, the United States affiliate of Ditron Dental and a subsidiary of Ditron Precision Ltd, will commence commercial operations for its dental implant portfolio on October 1. The portfolio includes the ULT Ultimate Precision Dental Implant System, the MPI Molecular Precision Implant System, and the OPI One-Piece Dental Implant, all featuring a host of design innovations and ultra-precise manufacturing, according to the company.

The ULT Ultimate Precision Dental Implant System uses a patented reverse concave neck with micro-threads that favor an atraumatic dental implant-bone contact that resists axial loads. This decreases the pressure on the cortical bone while avoiding vascular compression that preserves the peri-implant marginal bone and soft tissue. It also features an internal hexagon connection, which is the most widely used in the marketplace, eliminating the need to learn something new.

The MPI Molecular Precision Dental Implant System combines high initial stability with a long-term biological anchor, Ditron Dental USA said. It also features an internal hexagon connection. Plus, its expanding tapered body uses a self-tapping double-thread design to gradually condense the bone and enhance initial stability. The double threads result in an efficient insertion rate of 2.2 mm per revolution, according to the company.

The OPI One-Piece Dental Implant is designed to provide excellent initial stability in 3.0- and 3.3-mm diameters. It is recommended for narrow ridges and tight interproximal spaces such as maxillary lateral incisors and mandibular incisors. Plus, its integrity abutment is designed for a one-stage surgical procedure and immediate load, and its beveled collar promotes soft-tissue growth and helps to prevent bone resorption.

“In addition to what I believe to be the most precise dental implants in the world, we have assembled one of the most prestigious clinical advisory boards to help guide and support our plan to growth. As a forward-looking organization, we have already made substantive investments in antimicrobial technologies that will further differentiate our implant offering in the years to come,” said Dr. Ole Jensen, founder of Ditron Dental USA and chairman of the board.

“Commercially, we are building out a national team of seasoned dental implant industry professionals to complement our world-class advisory board,” said Mike Stevens, chief executive officer of Ditron Dental USA. “While the innovations and precision manufacturing are critical to our success, it is the Ditron team members and clinical advisors who will personify and bring to life what we have to offer by introducing clinicians and their patients to the Ditron experience.”

Brian Bashaw, a 30-year dental implant industry veteran, will be Ditron Dental USA’s chief commercial officer. Also, the company’s commercialization efforts will be supported by Cellerant Consulting.

“We are pleased to be working with Ditron on their US launch,” said Cellerant CEO Dr. Lou Shuman. “Dr. Jensen is such a respected and accomplished oral and maxillofacial surgeon, so his involvement instills confidence. Add to that a very solid product portfolio, a best in class group of clinical advisors, and a growing team of industry experts, and this company is sure to achieve a high level of success.”
