Dr. West received his DDS from the University of Washington, where he is an affiliate associate professor, and his MSD in endodontics at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (while being educated by the late Professor Herbert Schilder), where he is a clinical instructor. He is founder and director of the Center for Endodontics and also maintains a private practice with his 2 sons, Drs. Jason and Jordan West, in Tacoma, Wash. Dr. West’s memberships include: 2009 president and Fellow of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and 2010 president of the Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry, the former Northwest Network for Dental Excellence, and the International College of Dentists. He is a 2010 consultant for the ADA’s Board of Trustees where he serves as a consultant to the ADA Council on Dental Practice. He is a member of the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine’s Boston University Alumni Board and a Thought Leader for Carestream Digital Dental Systems. Dr. West coauthored “Obturation of the Radicular Space” with Dr. John Ingle in Ingle’s 1994 and 2002 editions of Endodontics and was senior author of “Cleaning and Shaping the Root Canal System” in Cohen and Burns’ 1994 and 1998 editions of Pathways of the Pulp. He authored “Endodontic Predictability” in Dr. Michael Cohen’s 2008 Interdisciplinary Treatment Planning: Principles, Design, Implementation (Quintessence), and in Cohen’s Quintessence textbook Interdisciplinary Treatment Planning Volume 2: Comprehensive Case Studies. He is also lead author of Esthetic Management of Endodontically Treated Teeth” in Dr. Ronald Goldstein’s 2017 third edition of Esthetics in Dentistry.  He is an associate editor for Endodontic Practice/US and serves on the editorial advisory boards for the Journal of Advanced Esthetics and Interdisciplinary Dentistry, Practical Procedures and Aesthetic Dentistry, Practical Procedures and Aesthetic Dentistry, and Journal of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry, and Dentistry Today. extensive hours of continuing education in North America, South America, and Europe. He was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
