Dr. Ward maintains a private practice in Columbus, Ohio, and served as assistant clinical professor at the Ohio State University for 13 years. He has researched and developed an innovative computerized method of smile design called the RED Proportion. His patented method of proportional smile analysis is helping to define an objective standard for dentists. Dr. Ward is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, the American Society for Dental Aesthetics, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the AGD. He has lectured at the postgraduate program in aesthetic dentistry at the University of Minnesota, SUNY Buffalo, University of Missouri Kansas City, and the University of Florida, and he has served as chief examiner. He was invited to present to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the AGD Meeting, the International Aesthetic Congress in Turkey, the American Society for Dental Aesthetics, and the UNAM International Congress in Mexico City. He has lectured in India, Poland, Korea, Czech Republic, Austria, and Hungary and for numerous dental societies and associations throughout the United States. He serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry and has published articles in the Journal of Prosthodontics, Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, Dental Clinics of North America, Compendium, Collaborative, Dentistry Today, Inside Dentistry, Contemporary Esthetics and Restorative Practice, and Oral Health. He authored the “Test Yourself” columns published in Esthetic Dentistry Update. An innovative pioneer, Dr. Ward combines theory with practical real world experience.
