Lavasani, Setareh

Dr. Lavasani is a Board certified Oral & Maxillofacial Radiologist. She is a full-time Associate Professor and the Director of Oral Radiology & Advanced Imaging at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Dental Medicine in Pomona, California. She earned her specialty certificate and master’s degree in dental Diagnostic Sciences from University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Lavasani is an internationally respected educator on topics related to CBCT applications, diagnostic interpretation, digital imaging, and Radiation biology. Dr. Lavasani is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists (ICD) and has earned a Fellowship at the Southern California Academy of Oral Pathologists. She has contributed to creating numerous courses and mini residencies at multiple US dental schools, the ADA, and the California Dental Association (CDA) in designing numerous lectures and hands-on courses. She is a member of the Board of Directors at the Tri-County Dental Society and a Delegate at the California Dental Association. She has published numerous book chapters and research articles and was the Associate Editor for the Oral radiology issue of the Journal of the California Dental Association. She is an honoree of the 40 under 40 best, most innovative and interesting young specialists in America published by Incisal Edge magazine, NY (2019) and the awardee of the “Distinguished faculty member award” at WesternU College of Dental medicine (2019). She has been featured on the cover of "Women in Dentistry" cover of Dentistry Today.
