Dr. Khademi obtained his BS in Chemistry from the University of California, Irvine in 1986, and his DDS from the University of California, San Francisco, in 1990. He moved to Dallas, Texas, for 2 years, worked in the computer field, and taught operative dentistry at Baylor College of Dentistry. He completed his endodontic training at the University of Iowa, where he obtained his certificate in endodontics and finished a masters thesis on digital imaging. He maintains an active California, Colorado, and Iowa license. Dr. Khademi has been active in dental research and standards development. His primary research interests are in the applications of computers in clinical dentistry, with emphasis on digital radiology and digital imaging. He has applied his 20-plus years of software experience to developing the digital dental practice where no paper records are retained; his full-time endodontic practice in Durango, Colo, retains no paper. He has worked with the ADA and AAE in standards development efforts for computers in dentistry that are ushering in this new era of clinical computer use. He has given dozens of half and all-day CE courses on computers and endodontics; he is a regular speaker at some of the largest dental meetings in the country about computer use and dental practice and the latest in conventional endodontic technique. Dr. Khademi has authored several articles, sections in endodontics texts, and most recently completed a chapter on endodontic access.
