Mydent International Supports Continuing Education For Dental

HYGIENISTS HAUPPAUGE, NY: February 14, 2012 — Mydent International is proud to support the ongoing education of dental hygienists. In Pennsylvania, the State Board of Dentistry will be requiring 3 CE hours of coronal polishing and flouride placement. To support this educational effort, Mydent International will be partnering with Expanded Functions Dental Assistants and the Harrisburg Area Community College Dental Assistant Program.
Mydent International is donating earloop masks, nitrile gloves, prophy paste and gauze. Gary Mahr, Mydent's Director of Operations says, "Hygienists are on the front line of oral health care. In many ways they are the backbone of our industry. Mydent is proud to support this worthy education initiative in Pennsylvania."

Inspired Hygiene Joins SmileTree to Help Fund Smiles Around the Globe

Ms. Rachel Wall of Inspired Hygiene, signed on as a Branch Office of the SmileTree to help put big smiles on little faces around the globe. Ms. Wall joins several dental practices and consultants throughout North America committed to supporting dental education and treatment projects in Guatemala, Nepal, India and Vietnam.

AACD Announces Class of 2012

MADISON, Wis. (2/13/12)--Excellence in cosmetic dentistry can be defined in many ways, but one of them is through AACD Accreditation--the Academy’s coveted credential.

Aribex NOMAD Applauds FDA Investigation

OREM, UTAH—10 February 2012—Aribex®, Inc., the worldwide leader in handheld x-ray technologies, clarified that their Aribex NOMAD handheld x-ray devices are legal and not the subject of an investigation announced today by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The FDA investigation involves the illegal online sales of handheld dental and veterinary x-ray units by manufacturers outside the United States. Aribex stressed that the NOMAD, which is manufactured in the United States, is proven safe, FDA-cleared, and approved for use in almost all states. Aribex officials said the company continues to have a positive working relationship with the FDA along with other state and local radiation safety officials.
