Dr. Michael A. Smith Elected Chair of the Arizona Dental Foundation

[January 12, 2010] - Dr. Michael A. Smith of the Biting Edge Family Dentistry (721 W. Glendale Ave in Phoenix) was recently elected chair of the Arizona Dental Foundation. This third generation Arizona dentist, graduated with a D.M.D. in 1993 from the University of Louisville, KY. He has been active in Arizona Dental Association component and constituent activities since 1994 serving as Central Arizona Dental Society President in 2007. Dr. Smith is equally committed to his family – wife Janice and two children, Alex and Christine. He is an adult leader of the Boys Scouts of America, coaches youth baseball, and is passionate about hunting.

Lava Network Expands to Include Argen

ST. PAUL, Minn. – (January 12, 2011) – 3M ESPE announces the addition of Argen®, manufacturer of CAD/CAM designed metal copings, to its Lava™ Network. This partnership gives labs with the 3M™ ESPE™ Lava™ Scan ST Design System the ability to export files for metal laser melted substructures. The move is part of 3M ESPE’s continuing effort to improve lab productivity, and will allow owners of the Lava Scan ST Scanner to reduce expenses incurred during the production of a traditional porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) restoration, including waxing, casting, investing, and metal inventory stocking.

A-dec Makes Substantial Equipment Donation to NCOHF Affiliate Network

(Charlotte, NC January 11, 2011) A-dec has made a generous equipment donation to three oral health programs in the National Children's Oral Health Foundation: America's Toothfairy® (NCOHF) Affiliate network to support comprehensive care for children from vulnerable populations.

University of Florida College of Dentistry, University of Indiana School of Dentistry, and Arizona Public Health Association received new operatory equipment for their dental clinics offering vital local pediatric oral health services.
