Ivoclar Vivadent Continues to Broaden its Global Impact on Dentistry

During August, Ivoclar Vivadent hosted a special program titled the 16th Ivoclar Vivadent Seminar at Mexico City’s World Trade Center. Robert Ganley, CEO, opened the event, stating that this was “the biggest Ivoclar Vivadent meeting in the world.”  More than 5,000 participants attended the two-day event and more than 35 internationally renowned speakers informed the participants about the latest developments in dental technologies and techniques.

L. Jackson Brown, D.D.S., M.Phil., Ph.D., to Retire as Journal of Dental Education Editor

WASHINGTON, DC—The esteemed Editor of the Journal of Dental Education (JDE), L. Jackson Brown, D.D.S., M.Phil., Ph.D., has announced he will retire from his position in March 2012. Dr. Brown has served the JDE admirably since 2009. Under his direction, the manuscript submission process for the JDE was significantly streamlined. The JDE now attracts 60% more submissions annually from more than 50 countries around the world. Through his leadership as Editor, Dr. Brown has carried on the JDE's tradition as the premier dental education journal.

8th Annual Halloween Candy Buy Back Program Targets Cavities And Supports Troops

(Buena Park, CA – September 21, 2011) – Dentists across the country will once again collect excess candy from young patients on November 1st as part of the 8th annual Halloween Candy Buy Back Program.

Through the program, children who bring unopened candy to designated locations the day after Halloween, are rewarded with prizes like the popular light-up FireFly® toothbrush and in some cases $1 cash per pound.  The candy is then sent through Operation Gratitude to troops serving overseas as part of holiday care packages.
