San Francisco, CA (November 25, 2012) – MicroDental Laboratories is pleased to announce that seven MicroDental technicians have achieved Certified Dental Technician (CDT) status as recognized by the National Board of Certification (NBC). These seven newly certified technicians join MicroDental’s existing staff of CDTs.
The designation of CDT is awarded by the NBC to technicians who, “Demonstrate a significant mastery of the knowledge and applied skills needed in dental technology. Candidates must pass written and practical examinations, and demonstrate a competency that not all of their peers can achieve.” The technical proficiency indicated by the CDT certification reflect a commitment to providing dentist, their team members and patients with the highest levels of quality and service.
“CDT Certification is further proof that MicroDental is taking important measures to bring dentistry to a higher level throughout the lab. Enhancing the experience for doctors is our main goal, and with more CDTs we can achieve this with experience and expertise,” commented Lee Culp, CDT and CTO of MicroDental Laboratories.
According to the National Board of Certification (NBC) in Dental Laboratory Technology, there are 6,500 active CDTs. This equates to less than one CDT per dental laboratory.
“MicroDental’s CDT training program has been put into place to support high-quality restorative solutions for doctors. We want to provide the optimal partnership for our doctors, and we continue to educate and train our technicians with the knowledge and tools to accomplish this,” commented Laura Sheppard, CDT, Sr. Director of Regulatory and Compliance.
Though renown for crafting exquisite restorations, what makes MicroDental different is a unique commitment to helping dental practices thrive. MicroDental Laboratories create a unique experience by providing exceptional service through CDT certifications and a full catalog of products; predictable quality backed by innovative technology and a pursuit for life-like aesthetics; and a partnership based on trusted partnerships with Misch International Implant Institute, LVI, AACD and ICOI along with Value Added programs to make working with MicroDental beneficial for doctors and their practices.
