Dr. Harold Litvak Honored with the American College of Prosthodontists Education Foundation's Founders Society Award

Harold Litvak, DMD, MSD, FACP, was honored with the Founders Society Award by the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) Education Foundation. Dr. Litvak was recognized during the 44th Annual Session of the American College of Prosthodontists held in New Orleans from Nov. 5-8, 2014. His son, board certified Prosthodontist Michael D. Litvak, DDS, FACP, accepted the award on his father's behalf along with the medallion presented in his father's name.

ADHA, FTC Submit Final Comments to CODA on Proposed Standards for Dental Therapy Education Programs

The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) recently submitted its comments to the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) regarding the proposed accreditation standards for dental therapy education programs. CODA asked communities of interest to provide comments prior to Dec. 1, 2014, and received responses from a variety of stakeholders — including remarks from the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC), whose comments to CODA paralleled many of the same points that were included in ADHA’s remarks, and in which the FTC urged CODA to expeditiously adopt accreditation standards for dental therapy education programs.

Dr. Frank J. Tuminelli Installed as President of the American College of Prosthodontists

Frank J. Tuminelli, DMD, FACP, has been installed as the 2014-15 president of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP). Dr. Tuminelli was sworn in during the 44th Annual Session of the ACP held in New Orleans from Nov. 5-8, 2014.

American Dental Association Signs Agreement with The Motion Picture Licensing Corporation

The American Dental Association (ADA) has negotiated an agreement with the Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) that gives ADA members the opportunity to obtain a reduced-rate license to exhibit movies and other audiovisual programs at their offices in a copyright compliant manner.
