Dr. Debra Stewart has practiced general dentistry in Stafford, Tex, for the past 32 years. She has more than 41 years of experience as a practicing dentist, front office manager, and clinical dental assistant. A 1980 graduate of the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, she has held various offices in the Greater Houston Dental Society and Houston AGD—she is a past president of both organizations. She has also served on the Texas Dental Association board of directors as a vice president. She is a part-time clinical assistant professor at the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston, where she is in the department of general practice and dental public health and is the first attending in the yellow practice in the dental clinics, teaching second, third, and fourth year dental students and hygienists in the new practice model. Dr. Stewart is a member of many dental professional organizations and has authored several articles and served on many dental boards and advisory committees, as well as having received numerous awards and honors for her work in dentistry. A nationally recognized speaker, she presents and offers a variety of lectures and hands-on workshops on expanded duties for dental auxiliaries. She has lectured throughout the United States, Canada, Bahamas, Barbados, and Mexico for local, state, and national meetings as well as many major dental meetings. Her love of dentistry and being a clinical dental assistant and front office manager before becoming a dentist has given her lectures a unique and personal touch.
