Ms. Tekavec is a well-known author and lecturer on practice management. Long considered an expert on records and dental insurance, her current passion is the hygiene department and its role in a successful practice. With both practical and clinical experience, she has functioned at the front desk, as a dental assistant, and still practices dental hygiene in a private general practice. She is also a consultant for McKenzie Management, and she is a former speaker with the ADA CELL Seminar Series. Ms. Tekavec is currently a contributor to the McKenzie Management Newsletter, and DentistryIQ. She has written more than 300 magazine and journal articles, was the columnist on insurance for Dental Economics for 11 years, and has been listed in Dentistry Today’s Leaders in Dental Consulting for 11 years. Her articles appear frequently in national print and e-journals. With more than 25 years as a clinical hygienist, her programs and articles are filled with practical information, presented from the standpoint of someone actually working in a day-to-day clinical setting. She has appeared at most of the nation’s major dental meetings, such as the Yankee Dental Congress, the Greater New York Meeting, Chicago Midwinter Meeting, the Hinman Dental Meeting, and the ADA Annual Session.
