Dr. Bakeman received her DDS degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She is a member of the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry and the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and an Accredited Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), where she serves as an examiner for the Accreditation and Fellowship examinations. She also has served as chairman of accreditation for the AACD. She is an adjunct faculty member of the Kois Center in Seattle, Wash, and maintains a full-time private practice in Grand Rapids, Mich. Dr. Bakeman works with dentists and technicians to promote education through publication and served 2 years as contributing editor to the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry and serves on several editorial boards. She currently serves as a section editor for Compendium. She publishes and lectures on the topics of comprehensive dentistry and periodontal plastic surgery in the aesthetic zone.
