P: (512) 453-1600 Dr. Holtzclaw received his dental degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. During a subsequent 12-year tour with the United States Navy, he completed a general practice residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, a periodontics residency at the prestigious National Naval Medical Center and received a master's degree in oral biology from George Washington University. Dr. Holtzclaw is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a Diplomate and Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, is a Clinical Advisory Board Member for Snoasis Medical and Community Tissue Services. He has published more than 25 articles in peer-reviewed dental journals and recently authored a chapter on allograft use in the practice of dentistry for the international textbook Tissue and Cell Therapies: An Essential Guide produced by Wiley-Blackwell publishing in cooperation with the American Association of Tissue Banks and the United Kingdom National Health Service Blood and Transplant service. Dr. Holtzclaw is the coeditor-in-chief of the Journal of Implant and Advanced Clinical Dentistry and serves on the editorial review boards for 4 other dental journals. He lectures internationally on topics including oral reconstructive surgery, mucogingival surgery, and implant dentistry. He is a past recipient of the International College of Dentists' Excellence in Research Award. |
