P: (203) 758-8059 Dr. Kanca is one of the pioneers in adhesive dentistry. He validated etching of dentin and participated in the biocompatibility study to vindicate etching of dentin. He produced the first gap-free resin composite restoration and showed that results in vivo can match those in vitro. He also discovered wet bonding and created the concept of pulse activation. His current research focuses on preventing defects in deep Class II restorations and how glass ionomer really functions. He holds several patents and has lectured at many major dental meetings around the world. He is a Fellow of the AGD, the Academy of Dental Materials, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. He is a reviewer for the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, the Journal of the American Dental Association, and the Journal of Contemporary Dental Practice. He is a recipient of the Gordon Christensen Lecturer Recognition Award from the Chicago Dental Society, the Alfred Knab Award from the AGD, the Outstanding Achievement Award from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the William Gies Award from the First District Dental Society, and the Larry Pearson Award from the Connecticut State Dental Association. Dr. Kanca was recently recognized as a Master of Esthetic Dentistry by the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry. |
