Dr. Molinari is currently director of infection control for THE DENTAL ADVISOR in Ann Arbor, Mich. Previously, he was a full-time faculty member at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry for 32 years. In recognition of his efforts, Dr. Molinari was inducted as an honorary member of the Michigan Dental Association, the International College of Dentists, and the American College of Dentists. His activities also include serving as a consultant on infectious disease and infection control topics for the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, ADA Councils on Scientific Affairs and Dental Practice, and hospitals in the Detroit area. He was the project coordinator for the Health Resources and Services Administration Task Force on AIDS and Dental Education, as well as chairman of the American Association of Dental School's Curriculum Advisory Committee on Bloodborne Infectious Diseases. Dr. Molinari was also appointed and served as chairman of the State of Michigan Governor's Risk Reduction and AIDS Policy Commission. Currently, he writes a monthly column in Dental Economics. He served as the infection control section editor for The Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry and a member of the editorial board for The Journal of the American Dental Association. He has published more than 350 scientific articles, text chapters, and abstracts in the areas of microbiology and immunology, and lectures internationally on topics dealing with infectious diseases and infection control. Dr. Molinari is also co-author of Cottone's Practical Infection Control in Dentistry. Dr. Molinari was also a recipient of the 2009 Golden Apple Award from the American Dental Association.
