P: (214) 443-0323 Dr. Niessen received her DMD, her master's in public health degree, and her master's in public policy from Harvard University. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, American College of Dentists, and International College of Dentists. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Public Health and the American Board of Special Care Dentistry. She is a past president of the Friends of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, American Association of Public Health Dentistry, American Association of Women Dentists, and American Board of Dental Public Health, the certifying board for public health dentistry. She has worked diligently throughout her career to mentor the next generations of dental professionals through her work with the ADA/DENTSPLY Student Clinician Research Program. She currently serves as vice president for the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and as a regent for the American College of Dentists; she is also on the Board for Oral Health America and the DentaQuest Foundation. She also holds a faculty appointment as clinical professor in the department of restorative sciences at the Baylor College of Dentistry, Texas A&M Health Sciences Center in Dallas, Tex. Dr. Niessen serves as vice president, chief clinical officer for DENTSPLY International, where she oversees global clinical education and professional services, professional relations, and corporate communications. She has authored more than 70 publications and a textbook entitled Geriatric Dentistry: Aging and Oral Health. She has lectured throughout the world on geriatric dentistry and women’s oral health. She was recently honored as one of the top 25 Women in Dentistry Leaders. |
