At the DENTSPLY Caulk booth, we saw the Aquasil Ultra Smart Wetting Impression material, which is designed to create precise results on a consistent basis and make handling easier. It reduces voids and bubbles, while also distinguishing details in the oral field and adapting more efficiently to tooth structure. We saw the impact when combined with the surface optimizer B4.

At the Danville Materials booth, we saw the PrepStart H2O, which is a hydro-abrasion system. It sprays a conical jet of water around the abrasive stream so that it removes any dust from the surface, providing better cutting results.

At the DenMat booth, we were shown the new Sapphire portable diode laser. It can be used effectively for new or experienced laser users and it boasts disposable tips and finger-touch control with a footpedal if you want one. The Sapphire has the ability to do a wide array of functions that can suit any practice.

At the BISCO Dental Products booth, we saw the DUO-LINK SE Kit, which is a universal adhesive cementation system that has all of the essential components involving adhesion to tooth structure and indirect substrates. The kit is versatile, with a primer involving various substances.

At Carestream Dental booth, we saw the new KODAK RVG 6500 System, which is a digital radiography sensor system. It’s unique because it’s the first system to have the intelligent positioning system to provide accurate sensor placement during patient examinations.

At the Essential Dental Systems booth, we saw Ti-Core Flow+, which is a 2-in-1 core buildup material. It comes with narrow tips for use in the canal for post cement and it has tips with a wider diameter to quicken core buildup.

At the Midmark booth, we saw the capabilities of the PowerVac G dry vacuum unit and the Artizan drawer line.

At the Discus Dental booth, we saw the new SL3 soft-tissue diode laser. It includes many of the features of the NV Microlaser, including disposable fiber tips, battery operation and its wireless footpedal activation. It also has a full-color LCD touchscreen and voice confirmation that provides audible feedback.

At the Evolve Dental Technologies booth, we learned that the KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching system can now finish its whitening process in 50% less time than in the past. The quicker whitening time is a result of the introduction of the new Dual Accelerated, Tri-Barrel Hydremide Peroxide technology.

At AXIS Dental booth, we saw the Zir-Cut diamonds, which is a Z-cut diamond that prevents microfractures and makes life easier for all dentists and lab personnel that work with ceramic, zirconia or other similar materials. The diamonds were created to reduce vibration to result in a smooth finish.

At the KaVo Dental booth, we were introduced to KaVo’s new series of handpieces. The Expert Series, Master Series and Smart Series all have unique features and have many capabilities, depending upon what type of procedure you are looking to do.

At the Ultradent Products booth, Opalescence Oh! was introduced. It’s a whitening system that possesses unit-dosed disposable bulbs filled with Ultradent’s sticky and viscous whitening gel. In addition to Oplascence Oh!, Ultradent unveiled a new version of Opalescence Boost.

DENTSPLY Tulsa Dental Specialties’ WaveOne is an obturator oven that was developed for heating WaveOne endodontic obturators during use for root canal therapy.

We saw the SureFil SDR Flow, which is a bulk fill flowable base that makes procedures easier compared to other similar products. It's also the only flowable that can self-level and provides cavity adaptation at a high level.

At the Biotrol booth, we saw Birex, which combines a series of detergents that are capable of cleaning and disinfecting without causing any damage to your equipment. There are also Birex wipes that are used to clean a wide variety of surfaces.

At the DentalEZ Booth, we saw the DentalEZ Free-Motion Elbow Support, which has the ability to attach to a stool cylinder and provide support for the dental professional's elbow. The goal of this support product is to alleviate any possible muscle fatigue or soreness that could occur.

At the DENTSPLY Caulk booth, we saw a demonstration of ChemFil Rock, which is DENTSPLY Caulk's new glass ionomer restorative. The result of this glass ionomer restorative compared to others is that the placement process is easier. It also holds up without fractures better than other products.

At the DENTSPLY Tulsa Dental Specialties booth, we saw GuttaCore, which is a crosslinked gutta-percha core obturator. It is the first obturator that has the ability to be crosslinked with the gutta-percha core.

At the VOCO America booth, we saw the newest addition to the line of nanohybrid composites, GrandioSO and GrandioSO Heavy Flow. At the SDI (North America) booth, we saw Pola Day CP, which is SDI’s new take-home whitening system. It is used once or twice per day for just 15 minutes and patients will see changes immediately. It uses a 35% carbamide peroxide formula and it has a high water content. There was also the riva glass ionomer restorative material. It has a new and improved capsule design. At the Aspen Dental booth, we stopped by to see what it takes to get a dental office started. Aspen Dental, which started in Syracuse, is a company that opens offices in rural parts of the United States. The goal is to enable all Americans to have close proximity to a dental office, ensuring a high level of oral health. Through Aspen Dental, recent dental school graduates may have an easier path toward owning their own practice because they don’t have to worry about a multi-year commitment to an office that may never lead to ownership. At the SciCan booth, we saw the strength of OPTIM 33TB when compared to other cleaning and disinfecting wipes. This was demonstrated by seeing the blood of a pig caked onto a tile. The basic cleaners and sprays did nothing to remove the blood from the tile. Then it was time for the OPTIM 33TB wipes to get the blood off the tile. Not only did the wipe remove the blood, it made the tile look like it was brand new. So these types of wipes can be extremely beneficial for dental purposes. At the Directa Dental/JS Dental Manufacturing booth, we saw the Fendermate, which is a matrix that wedges between teeth to fill a cavity and get a restoration. It accomplishes that by getting tight contact and a tight cervical margin within the teeth. It comes in various colors and is customized to be on the left side or the right side of your mouth. There was also the Luxator, which is a surgical cutting instrument. It comes with a fine tip to cause less pain for the patient when it is inserted between the bone and the root. At the Bien-Air Dental booth, we saw the new micro series of handpieces. The series features handpieces that are 30% shorter and 23% lighter than previous handpieces. At the DUX Dental booth, we saw the ShortCut, which is a retraction cord dispenser. It has a built-in cord cutter and dispenses the cord with a turn of the dial. Each turn of the dial dispenses an equal amount. It eliminates the need of a scissors for procedures. There was also Bib-Eze, which is a disposable bib holder. It is designed to be used instead of the metal chains that hold bibs because the saliva, blood, bacteria or anything else from each patient can spread easily to the next patient if the same metal chain is used.
